It's Science Week in Norwich during the February Half Term. On Wednesday and Thursday we are introducing you to bellringing.
Come up into the training centre and we can show you how to ring a bell. From age 7 upwards you will find our training bells manageable. We have experts to "show you the ropes".
The bellringing will be 10.30-11.30 & 13.30-14.30.
Then there is rope making.
Our mini rope walk is down in the church. It needs plenty of space to make ropes long enough to reach bells up in the tower!
Come and help us make the little bell ropes on our mini rope walk. It's fascinating watching how the rope develops and the how the sally is added into the rope.
The rope making is 11.00-12.00 & 13.00-14.00
There are guides in the church to show you where the activities are happening, We will need to limit numbers to ensure the activities are not overcrowded. You may have a short wait while we make space for you.
When you're ringing need to be wearing clothing that is comfortable as you stretch up, a long top is ideal as you don't want a gap as you stretch up. No scarfs and if you've long hair that it be tied back.
